How recommendations work

The movie finder starts with films in our curated collection. It matches your mood to lists and genres, then filters by the running time, release period and language choices you make. It shuffles the matching films so another visit can bring a different suggestion.

How the lists are ranked

I put each list in an order that reflects my own favourites and what I think makes each film worth watching. The introductions explain why a category earns a place here. Movie of the Week highlights one film with a fresh editorial note.
